Hotel Quartier Latin

During our summer holiday it was either too hot (above 35 degrees Celsius) or too unstable (with rain) so our car has hardly left the garage this time.

So when in September a week of 'Indian Summer' weather was announced, it was the perfect opportunity to get away a few days and enjoy the rides with better temperatures (approx. 25 degrees C).

For our trips I had selected a central place in the Ardennes, so Marche-en-Famenne would be the perfect starting point for our trips. Selecting a B&B or a hotel would be easy using Booking.com...

Hotel Quartier Latin appeared high on the list and the Spa was the convincing factor for my wife to agree ;-) Checking the website to see what would be the parking possibilities for our R107, I stumbled upon their special page: Classic Car Stay - 2 nights:

  • The car can be parked indoors
  • Two roadbooks (out of 12) to be chosen for our day trips
  • A diner with 3 courses for one night

I did not need any more arguments... So we booked for 2 nights between 16 and 18 September!

On Wednesday 16 September we left for a lunch break in Dinant before arriving at the hotel in Marche-en-Famenne.

The next day we had chosen the Road Trip to go to Luxemburg. As you can see in the track log below, we have spent some extra miles in our car to finish the route properly ;-)

BTW: Both the route as well as the tracklog have been created using MyRouteApp. Works very well for me!

Unfortunately we had to return on Friday 18 Septembe rto be back home in time, so our time spent that day was limited. We have partially driven the route of the 'Castles of the Condroz', roadbook 1 of the hotel.

The hotel seems to organise events for classic cars regularly for which new roadbooks will be created. The next event scheduled is between 8 and 11 April 2021. After the event, the new roadbooks will be available for guests who will visit the hotel at other times (at least that is what they have done with the previous editions...)
